Otto-Mobile increase prices & brexit

So if you haven’t been taking notice over the 18 months we are feeling a lot of changes from the Covid pandemic, affecting almost every aspect of life for everyone. We had almost forgotten about Brexit too, that is now in November 2020 having an impact if you buy goods overseas.

If you are like me then I love cracking open these boring brown boxes to get that first peek of a new release by Otto-mobile!

Otto-Mobile who make 1:18 and some 1:12 scale resin auto models announced that prices would increase in January by 10 euros, before this during the early to mid part of 2021 they also experienced shipping delays due to a container shortage.

Personally for myself I feel that an increase is justified, a road version going up to 69.95 Euros and 79.95 Euros for a Motorsport Model is still good value, however this time when I received my Nissan S14 270R and other models I had to pay an import duty, which again only equates to an extra £10-£11 per model but you need to be aware of this when buying from Otto-Models and shipping the United Kingdom, and this isn’t their doing its ours for voting in brexit one of the downsides being importing goods, hopefully though sometime in the future a trade deal can be struck!

I’d love to hear your opinions on the subject, too pricey now? or are you happy to still get you models from Otto-Mobile and lets be sure you’ll pay more on eBay for them on that secondary market.
