Re-visiting my old model collection
So this isn’t a review or anything like that, its basically a sub section on this website where I revisit my old models which have long since departed my shelves! I don’t normally have regrets, but one major foul that I suffered was losing all the pictures of my previous model collection due to a hard drive failure, I recovered some but lost the majority. So these post are really for my own needs, but i will share some of the older models that aren’t seen to much these days.
Expect a short write up and a few old pictures!
Maybe one of the better models around the late 90’s were created by UT models, they had a good range diversity and good quality (for the time). This Mercedes C Class DTM was one of three DTM cars I owned at the time, the other two were the Alfa 155 & Opel Calibra both DTM cars.
I have to say that the Mercedes was my least favourite of the 3, but still a nice model. They had opening doors only, like many models today in fact. the race interior was sparse but accurate. The car sat really low to the ground and had great wheels a tyres. The livery was mostly print not decaled and the black livery on bright yellow paint looked awesome.
Its a model that left my collect late on in my first round of collecting diecast, and didn’t sell for much more than I paid for it, looking today on eBay I cant find the same and variants look to be around £130 which sits at the top end of the UT Models second hand market.
I hope you enjoy this short visit back to the mid 90’s, and if you have any questions leave a comment.
