Re-visiting my old model collection Episode 2
Staying with the theme of the episode 1 of revisiting my old models, I picked the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 DTM race car as is a nice progression and relevant to the first car, I must point out that these aren’t in the order I bought them back in the late 1990’s I’m just picking ones at random.
One of three UT DTM 1:18 models I had they came in a large box like the old performance, but with a really nice ’94 DTM art work on the internals of the box, a had drawn cartoon style depicting the cars in a race. The Alfa is the favourite of the bunch, reason? well ~I like the hard square lines of the Alfa and was its body work almost touches the floor it looks like nothing can move this beast from its racing line.
That front bumper with its massive low chin jutting out again millimetres from the tarmac, just sets of the tone for is aggressiveness , you can only imagine what this looks like screaming up behind you in the rear view mirror. Set off with is bright red paint and white livery just look so cool in my opinion, compliment with the black side skirts with white sponsor livery.
This model has the most insane setup at the rear of the model! the quad upswept exhausts are insane, obviously Alfa had issues with the heat melting from the exhausts melting the rear bumper and had to add some heat shield. couple these crazy exhausts with the chunky rear end and a bi-level spoiler the back is more aggressive than the front, so when the car has overtaken you, you’ll have that rear end gloating at you!
Another short visit back to my old cars that no longer grace their presence in my cabinet, I hope you enjoyed the short read, please comment if you want to and consider becoming a subscriber, so you’ll never miss a new article.
