Straight out of the box..

The moment I knew that you could get a 1:18 scale Silvia S15 I added it to my list, at the time it was only available in silver and couldn’t be picked for less than 3 times the retail price (£175), back in the tail end of 2020 Otto-Mobile announced this version of the Nissan Silvia S15, as soon as it came out I snatched one up!
I wasn’t disappointed when I opened it up! in my brief write up you’ll see what I think of this particular model.

In detail the exterior.

Something about white cars and models I like, it’s probably because the white makes the lines and features of a car pop.. I just hate cleaning them in real life! I love this coupe car with its smooth lines and although there’s not a lot of over the top styling going its sports some sleek lines starting at the bumper, sharing with Kyosho’s Initial D Mazda RX7 a Japanese number plate is a win for authenticity in my eyes. The front bumper has a large opening with two recessed nicely detailed fog lamps, a very thin upper grille sports the S badge above it. finished off nicely with the sleek headlights.

The 2 door body coupe flows beautifully, fitted to the lower body is the side skirts which widen the bottom of the car nicely, the Spec-R graphics are on each rear quarter just above the side skirts. As with a lot of JDM coupes the rear quarter windows are tinted. The side profile shows the ride height which is set-up perfectly.

Moving on to the back the rear window has the rear de-mister lines and the boot lid sports a large 3 leg rear spoiler with a unusual triangular brake light moulded into the middle leg of the rear spoiler. Rear decals are nicely fitted and look accurate, the distinctive rear lights are replicated in all their glory and as per the front has a JDM plate .. Noice! Finally the rear bumper sports a twin pipes out of the back.

The wheels on this model are finished in bronze and look amazing against the white body work, well moulded and when photographing I discovered these are Volk Racing wheels, the decal is so small but my phone has captured the tiny detail in in the decal. Standard brakes discs and callipers are cleanly done.

In detail the interior space.

The interiors seem to be getter better from Otto-Mobile as time goes one, particularly on this model the dash and clocks are very detailed and well moulded, you can make out all the details on the clocks, but look at the triple heating vents with that sliver trim looks awesome and look closer you’ll notice the boost gauge on the drivers side A Pillar . Steering wheel is nicely detailed as is the gear stick, two cup holder recess in the center console are a good example of attention to detail. Finally the seats are orange with the Silvia Logo in the center , the door cars are also trimmed in orange

Verdict?

A very nice model with some nice attention to detail, fitted with those bronze Volk Racing Wheels, Otto Mobile is ever improving their quality with every batch of model, you cant go wrong if you want this particular car in your collection. The white Pearlescent paint work is very good.

Pros:

  • Great value for money
  • Volk Racing Wheels
  • Pearlescent paint is very good
  • Detailed interior

Cons:

  • Very delicate windows
